Looking to buy a laptop for my mother-in-law

Hello. I have a budget of about $550 for a 15in laptop for my mother-in-law. I would like to get a 3rd generation i5 with at least 6gb of ram from a decent brand. Must be brand new, not refurbished. Discrete graphics are not needed, and neither is a large hd. i7, 8gb of ram, win8, and ssd would all be nice but are not critical.

My question here is, should I jump on this? Or, do you guys think there will be a better deal before xmas? I'm having a hard time finding a 3rd generation i5 on a 15in laptop in my price range with more than 4gb of ram. Let me know what you think, thanks!

I would probably lean towards the Asus as it is pretty much the same laptop, as I can see, and without tax and possibly shipping it is cheaper. Unless anybody knows of any Dell coupons?

Unless your mom is doing 1080p HD video editing, an i5/i7 is a overkill. A under 399.99 laptop with i3/Pentuim/A6 will do the job just as well.Computers Deals and Coupons
