1. Satellite company raised our rates after the 1st year (as was expected) 2. We realized we spend less than an hour a day watching TV 3. We realized the channels we get suck, and to get decent channels required a very expensive package 4. Reduced our satellite plan to the cheapest, which was channels filled with commercials 5. Both agreed paying ~$40/month essentially for a DVR, since we get the channels OTA already anyway, was a waste She will come around, as will everyone. Subscription/satellite TV is going the way of radio. Regarding the gyroscope remote. We got to play with one at my brother in laws house, and it was VERY cool. I would definitely recommend getting one as it is very functional for these Android devices. I will definitely be buying one...but I haven't found a good deal yet. Not sure if anyone knows of remote alternatives better than this gyroscope remote...? |

I wasn't on the fence about the price, $20 seems more than reasonable for everything that it does.....I didn't buy because I wasn't completely sure that I needed it since my setup works fine. Having said that, every time someone mentions that they've seen / used one, they say they love it - which makes me second guess my decision and want one again.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but the MX1 is available for $70 shipped from here http://tvbox.geekbuying.com/
That's $10 less than via Amazon |

Thanks.
People like it because it has Bluetooth, but if one has no need for the Bluetooth option, the better deal is still the MK808. Both solid, either way. They have similar components, just the Mx1 has Bluetooth.

I bought this from amazon, uses it everyday. http://www.amazon.com/iPazzPort-2...=air+mouse The only con I can think of is that the gyro is not very accurate. My LG smart remote is much more sensitive and accurate. So I'm still searching for the perfect HTPC remote. |

I'm a huge advocate of the Samsung Captivate, which you can find with a broken screen for $50-100 on eBay, but I'd suggest being somewhat tech-literate if you were planning on buying a broken phone, hooking to a TV, flashing a custom ROM, and then using as a media device. You sure you wouldn't want to just go the simple route and get an HTPC device or an Android stick instead, lol? |
