I think I am going to try buying this tv early on my discover card and getting the price protection for it. How late should I wait to buy it before black friday?

You have 90 days from the date of the purchase so any time before Thanksgiving is fine.

Does anyone know if you can get two of the TV and get price protection refunds? The $500 limit is just per item, right? What's the annual limit?

To use the Discover price protection, do I have to buy from Sears or can I buy it today from anywhere and then use the Sears BF price for my claim?

Cool that was my question also. I couldn't find the 50" Toshiba listed on the Sears website earlier. I probably will just order it from bestbuy and then file a claim with discover. Actually I guess we need to be careful though as Discover will only reimburse $500 correct? So that would make the max purchase price $799 (before taxes, etc). I just want to order from a place with a good return policy in case the Discover deal doesn't pan out. Maybe Amazon is the better option though?

I am going to buy this tv from Amazon and do the Discover price protection. If it doesn't pan out and I don't open the TV is there any fees associated with returning it to Amazon? I can't seem to find return shipping information. Also I am a prime member if that makes a difference.

I just got off the phone with Discover. The guy I talked to said that price protection is only available if the price is lower in 90 days from the same store as your original purchase. So some conflicting information here. It would be useful if we got a few more people to call/chat with Discover with the same question so we can get more of a clear consensus on the matter.

I chatted with Discover and got him to confirm and notate my account allowing me to buy it at MicroCenter and then get refunded later for the lower price from Sears.
