I sent my form in yesterday. They specifically ask for a copy of the statement showing the FULL account number, which isn't available from Discover (they only show the last 4 digits).

I hope they don't use that to reject the claim. Hopefully I've got a $350 refund on the way.

It's been really hard not to open the box, it's been sitting in my living room for a week now...

I just called discover and the price protection division to verify that a statements showing only the last four digits of the card # were O.K. The first rep told me it had to show the full credit card number. I told her they don't print the full # and she said I still needed it. So I called Discover back again and they called another rep at the Claims center who verified that the statement showing only the last four digits was sufficient. She seemed to have a more superior position and verified what the other rep told me was wrong. Lots of confusion between the claims center and discover!

hey, the discover price protection claim form says to include "original sales receipt". i ordered from amazon and there was no original receipt in the box. can we just use the invoice that we can print out from amazon?

What are you guys using for your documentation of lower sale price?

The form asks for "Dated advertisement showing the lower price... For internet advertisements, this must include the date the advertisement was posted, merchant name, website address, the product and the sale price."

I was wondering what exactly they're looking for with "date the advertisement was posted."

I hope somebody gets their response soon! I really want to open this giant box that's been in my closet for a week. I'll feel a lot more secure once I know that it was approved for someone.

Any update on the Discover price protection claim? Anybody received the claim form send by Discover?

Most settings I've found online had backlight at 100, with minimum recommended at 44. 44 is getting too dark, and 100 punches energy usage up to over 100W. I found the slight increase from default at 50 to 60 looked best on my set and balanced out the energy usage. Played with that a LOT, and honestly the difference between 50 to 100 is not really huge, except in energy use, but I did like it just a bit higher than the 50 default.

Color was just stupid bright on pinks and reds, so much so you were losing detail. I've taken it down as far as 40 and finally settled on 45. The reds and pinks can still be a bit "in your face", but then again, it's a big screen. It still looks good, bright color at 45 but keeps from completely blowing those out which it seemed to be doing at 50 (gf commented how orange faces looked on SOME channels / shows and the 45 tones that down just a bit too).

Give them a try and see what you think and give some feedback.
