Additional info:

Description: We have barely seen any 50" LED HDTV's for $500, so this $300 price tag is slick! The TV does not have WiFi or Apps, or many HDMI inputs but for $300, it does not need to. What you will get is a very good TV at an unbeatable price.

The check should arrive in 10-15 business days. The dept is only open until noon today, so if anyone wants to call and check do it before noon (not sure what time zone though).

Any luck with discover price match yet?

Assuming ppl were waiting to receive the form in the mail. And then mailing the form out with the required documents it would take a while since Discover claims it will take 7-14 days once they receive the documents. However, I was told from a sup that you could request the form to be faxed to you and you could fax all the forms so that would help. But unless someone did the whole "email cooperate thing", I doubt many ppl have a resolution as of yet.

Anyone had any success with finding a corporate email. I went to make my price protection claim and they told me 10-15 days to get the claim form, then 10-15 days for processing once i send it back

I haven't filed yet or even opened the box to see if its not damaged from the shipping.

Any update on the Discover price protection claim? Anybody received the claim form send by Discover?

Gotcha. Thank you very much for explaining that to me in detail.Thumbsup

I got the claim form couple of days ago, sent the documents today. You need purchase proof (receipt/ invoice), sale advertisement showing model number and discover statement.

You can fill up to 3 claims per claim form.

I sent my form in yesterday. They specifically ask for a copy of the statement showing the FULL account number, which isn't available from Discover (they only show the last 4 digits).

I hope they don't use that to reject the claim. Hopefully I've got a $350 refund on the way.

It's been really hard not to open the box, it's been sitting in my living room for a week now...

I just called discover and the price protection division to verify that a statements showing only the last four digits of the card # were O.K. The first rep told me it had to show the full credit card number. I told her they don't print the full # and she said I still needed it. So I called Discover back again and they called another rep at the Claims center who verified that the statement showing only the last four digits was sufficient. She seemed to have a more superior position and verified what the other rep told me was wrong. Lots of confusion between the claims center and discover!

hey, the discover price protection claim form says to include "original sales receipt". i ordered from amazon and there was no original receipt in the box. can we just use the invoice that we can print out from amazon?

What are you guys using for your documentation of lower sale price?

The form asks for "Dated advertisement showing the lower price... For internet advertisements, this must include the date the advertisement was posted, merchant name, website address, the product and the sale price."

I was wondering what exactly they're looking for with "date the advertisement was posted."

Mailing it in tomorrow with all needed documents, will post on here what happens!

I hope somebody gets their response soon! I really want to open this giant box that's been in my closet for a week. I'll feel a lot more secure once I know that it was approved for someone.

Same here. The first time I called in the Rep asked how long ago I sent it in, before anything else. When I told her, she just said theres no way it would been done because the process takes 4-6 weeks…? So I called again and had them actually check and there wasn't any news besides that my clams were processing.

My claim is still processing. I bought 3 TV's for $600 @ Amazon. Asked Discover's PP people to give me back $900, and got another $300 back from Amazon themselves for a price match.

All in all, three 50" LED's for $200 each.

How'd you get Amazon to agree to a match?

I think he is saying that the Amazon price had been fluctuating quite a bit when we were buying this TV. So he probably called Amazon after he bought them and asked them to credit him back to the lowest price sold. I bought mine when it was $710. Later that afternoon it dropped to $550. So I called Amazon and they credited me back $160. At least I think that is what he is saying. Must be since Amazon doesn't price match.

Anyway, this sucker cost me $140! Is that slick or what?! Big Grin

Just wanted to update to say that I got a letter in the mail from the claims department, telling me my claim was being reviewed.

That got me a little nervous, so I called the provided number and was told I had been approved as of yesterday, 12/12.

I'm posting this from my HTPC hooked up to this TV, in fact. It's really nice!

I called Discover last night, and found out that my claim was approved as well.

Original Price: 749.99 Amazon Adjusted price to $499.99 (-$250) Then the Discover Claim to match Sears 299.99 off of original price (-$450) = Final Price of $49.99! How ridiculous is that!

I'm still waiting to find out if Discover will give 5% cash back off of the original purchase price. If so it could potentially put that final price down to $11.50!

Ha! Keep rubbing it in! Seriously, that is the best slick deal I can remember hearing about. Very nice work for a Slickdeals newbie!

Well to rub it in further, I just got my statement, and Discover did give me the 5% of the original price. Total price after all "rebates" was $11.50. Already spend the 5% CB on a T4i deal on here. This place is evil!

How is Amazon reimbursing for the price match? Most retailers give credit back to the form of payment originally used. So if you received credit back on your Discover card from the Amazon price match, wouldn't Discover be able to see what your final payment was for the tv?
