So this was what caused my problem yesterday during my 2.5 hour Fry's debacle. The people you typically speak with on the phone are call center reps, not actual store employees despite having called the store phone number. When you get to the store, the "raincheck results" are somewhat YMMV. I wanted to pick up a raincheck for the Panny and was told that the store can, at their discretion, the ability to deny a raincheck. Stupid CS, yes, but certainly not in anyway "illegal." As for the LG, the story that I got was it wasn't raincheck-able b/c it wasn't on sale rather it was a substitution. I still left the store happy, though. All in all, YMMV.

I went to the Frys in Duluth, GA and the deal for the 60 inch plasma was on 2 models. They were the Panasonic TC-P60U50 and the LG PA6500. Which one of these do you guys think is the better set? Internet forums seem to be telling me the TC-P60U50 is the better model, any thoughts guys?

Okay so now we just need to know what the 55 & 60 are

The panasonic is better. Any luck seeing what the 55 inch was?

No sorry. Should have asked. I passed through real quick on my lunch break. I am thinking about heading back to buy the U50 tonight. I will get the 55 inch model for you guys if I do. I have to decide if I want to brave the crowds on black friday or if I should just go ahead and get in on this deal. Does this sound like a good deal to you guys? I have my TV in a darker room so I won't have to worry about light glare, which seems to be the main complaint with this model. Also does anyone know if this is actually the same back panel as the more expensive ST50 and just lacks many of the bells and whistles like 3D, Smart TV, and the anti-glare screen and trans-coding.

For anyone that is curious about the price of this one which is on page 6 of the weekly ad (specs shown below), it is marked down to $899.00. Ad has it $1949, crossed off.

I have a 50 inch UT model and its a good tv so u should be good with the U model

LED tvs are LCD tvs. The LED is just the back light behind the LCD so you can actually see what is being displayed. They just swapped some leds in where cfl or something else was a couple years ago. You won't see an OLED at this price and size for a long time.

If it is indeed the LG 55LS4500, then this is not a slick enough deal for me. Best Buy has it for 899 compared to 699 at Frys. Hoping for lower prices later
