What happens to Office Max rewards at the end of the year? Other than Florida will everyone's accounts reset to zero? TIA this is my first year in the OM program.
The program is on a calendar year basis for everyone.
Rewards earned or available to spend do not expire at year end other than those rewards made available in September which are supposed to expire on 12/31 at 11:59 PM EST (odd that its EST as the rest of OfficeMax is on central time but that is what the terms state).
The items that reset to zero are the qualified purchase amounts and any unreleased recycling rewards.
For example, if a business rewards member has $490 in qualified purchases toward the $25 reward for $500 in qualified purchases, that will reset to zero. If that business rewards member makes a qualifying purchase of $10 or more before the deadline, the member would receive the $25 in the payout in January for December.
Also for example, if a member had any unreleased recycling rewards because of the qualified purchase requirement, those would be zeroed out as of the deadline as well if there were not sufficient qualified purchases to release the recycling rewards by the deadline.
There is an exception do this deadline for those who join in the last three months of the year for the year of joining.
Bought the paper last Thursday, it was delivered today. It was paid for via Rewards card, Just checked to see if it was updated and it was, it showed the amount that I paid, and if the rewards section it doesn't show a thing, how long does it take to show up, or does this mean that I will got get the max perk rewards
I have $70 in rewards expiring by end of November. How do I keep them rolling? I don't see anything I'd be okay spending them on as equivalent to cash.
What's everyone's suggestion to make this useful? I'll have $140 (in addition to the $70) expiring in December...
Provided OfficeMax has an ad for next week prior to Black Friday, the in-store flyer should be released early Friday morning and the OfficeMax.com MaxPerks page (online only bonus rewards) should update early Sunday morning.
At the moment, the only free or 1 cent after rewards items are the batteries as noted above.
Last year this time the rewards offers were quite plentiful. Just for the 10 days or so surrounding Thanksgiving there were three different sets of bonus rewards offers. Of course that does us no good this year. Just have to wait and see.

Do I need to use the maxperks balance all at once or can I use them multiple times until the balance expires?
Also if I buy the FAR battery and some other black friday deal using my maxperks, will I still get the rewards back and in case if I return the item I should get the merchandise credit card, rt?
OfficeMax MaxPerks rewards certificates are unlimited use until funds exhausted or expired.
Purchases paid for with rewards generally earn bonus rewards.
Refunds of purchases paid for with rewards should be refunded to a merchandise card.
04. If a bonus rewards item is paid for with rewards will the bonus rewards still be awarded? In other words, do rewards "roll"?
Yes, to date, with one exception.
Paying for percentage back in bonus rewards (e.g. 100% back in rewards on a specific item), $0.01 after bonus rewards and fixed value (buy X, get $Y in rewards) bonus rewards offers with rewards have earned rewards so at least for those three types of bonus rewards offers, MaxPerks rewards have "rolled".
The one type of bonus rewards offer that does not roll is "Get X% Back in MaxPerks Rewards on most everything". The offers' terms noted the exception:
"*20% MaxPerks Bonus Rewards offer valid in-store from June 20, 2010 thru June 26, 2010. Saving pass, phone promo code or online promo code and member's MaxPerks ID card must be presented at time of purchase. No Bonus Reward adjustments will be made after purchase. Not valid on computers, gift cards, general use prepaid cards, phone cards, purchases with a Retail ConnectSM card, sales tax, OfficeMax private label ink, toner and ink refills, Sprint® monthly price plans and purchases made prior to enrollment and purchases with a MaxPerks Reward Card."
Note: Some MaxPerks customer service representatives are under the erroneous impression that rewards do not roll. This can be a problem if the system does not automatically award the rewards.
12. If an item paid for with rewards is returned, how will the refund be paid out?
Refunds for items paid for with rewards should be refunded via a merchandise cards. Merchandise cards do not have an expiration date.
