Since heat is not an issue with my setup, clearly the cabling is not causing a problem with air flow, and I was able to organize it reasonably well. I wouldn't mind USB 3.0. That is valid complaint for persons who need it. Although in my situation, I needed to add a card reader to one of the 5.25 openings, and it has two USB 3.0 ports. (So far never had occasion to use them.)

HAHAHA!!! The 3rd case look like its from an old 70 sci-fi movie! C'mon, that don't even compare to what the Antec looks like. You said you were worried about it not being painted on the inside what about what it looks like on the outside? The 2nd one looks pretty decent but it's $10 more and the one you're raving about is made out of aluminum and plastic. The Antec 300 is all metal if my memory serves me correct.

I bought the 5.25" bay sized nMedia card reader/firewire/USB 3.0 port unit from NewEgg. But I would not recommend this unit - because one of the card reader ports suddenly stopped working for me a couple months after I bought it. (By the way, after four computer builds, this is the only component that has ever broken, knock on wood.)

Buy the one you like more design wise and better fits your needs. If an extra fan is what you need then go with Challenger.

I've never brought looks into this, nor did I mention a painted inside being a big deal as none of these cases have a side window. I'm talking about functionality for price only. If you like the look better, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on that matter, but there are better cases for $20 or even $30 AR.

So many cases deal from Newegg lately, thinking about pulling the trigger now or wait till BF. That Storm Trooper Elite looks quite nice for $40AR though.

My bad, I've been reading too many comments and got your mixed up about the painted inside. Well, your needs and definition of "functionality" is different than others so yes everyone is entitled to their opinion. So for you to say one case is superior than other is subjective and your opinion. The Antec 300 case is a decent case and would fit the needs of many people, so would your examples its called freedom. We have the freedom to choose which case would suit our needs, wallet and personal taste.

These are working great, I have 3 on dedicated WCG/GPUGrid crunchers. Even with 2 GTX 660 TI gpus and quad core CPUs, the powerful 140mm top fan and 120mm back fans, plus an added high speed side 120mm fan keep everything very cool under 100% 24/7 use. Only issue was no cable route for the CPU cable but I just literally tucked it behind the motherboard on the top and then through the cpu cutout on the motherboard tray.

You mean there are cases more appealing to you for this same price. This case is 29.99.
Several of the cases you have listed are personally better to yourself, others have given you several reasons those cases are not better. Gaming, Desktop, and HTPC also determine if the case is better fitted for someones needs.

Love this case. Both of my PC's are built in one. Easy to work with, plenty of airflow and a classier look.

I've had the "Illusion" version of this for about 2 years and love it.

Somebody mentioned the NZXT Source 210.
I did 2 builds with that case a few months ago, never again.
It looks and feels cheap and is very difficult to work in.

The classic budget build case. Great airflow if you set up your intake/exhausts properly. Very solid construction, quiet for the price, and not too heavy. Plenty of room inside as mine fits both an ATI 5870 (huge graphics card) and a Hyper 212+ CPU cooler (also pretty enormous) with room to spare.

It lacks some of the bells and whistles of newer cases (no USB 3.0 or tool-less drive bays). It's also annoying that the headphone/microphone jacks are directly above one of the drive bays (my headphone cable hangs in front of my DVD drive), but that is a very minor design issue that rarely comes up these days. There isn't a fancy cable routing system, but there are places and basic cutouts to loop around some of your longer cables.

This is an older design for a case and often hits around $40 without a rebate involved, so at this price it's a pretty decent deal. It has an excellent reputation for a reason. It is definitely one of the best cases for budget builds and overclocking that you can find in this price range. It also just plain looks nice, while many cases at this price point do not. Very simple case without all the XTREME GAMERZ attitude. You can put in some LED case fans if that is your thing, but I really prefer the understated styling (and the ability to sleep in the same room) of having no lights.
