I have this case and I like it. It's so spacious that you just need a gentle breeze inside to keep it cool. That's pretty much what fan noise is... trying to blow fast air through a small space. The included fans work just fine, but I got some slower ones with a fan controller, put it on slowest speed, and you can't even hear my system. The case also has a fan filter on the front, so it helps keep dust out. The only thing I wish is that it didn't have the top fan opening or the opening was flat. Then I can put something flat on the top of the case.
Probably USB 3.0 on front, tool-less, inside painted black, better cable management.
I also don't understand why people like this case.
It has no usb 3.0, no cable management, No fan control. and not painted inside.
plus you have to buy two more fans.
too many trade off for this case to last another 5 years.
I would rather just buy 500R.
I have this case and I am pretty happy with its performance/$ ratio.
P.S. I don't have/need USB3.0, I powered only the back fan on low because the air flow it's great and it's keeping my CPU @ 34C idle and 50C under heavy load! That means I don't have a "cable management" issue/anger.
I don't care about inside painting!
I have extra fans lying around in case I decide to go mad over the environment.
At this price I would buy again!
Paint inside the case isn't necessarily a plus. Yes, it does seem more "finished", but my gripe is that it makes it harder to see inside the case (for black cases) when you are working on it. The black absorbs light, whereas the steel finish bounces light around the inside - making seeing things easier.
Has a dust filter on the front intake fans. (Although I added a finer dust filtering in the form of old nylons.)
Not interested in painted black interior. (Although could be an issue if the owner wishes to cut a hole in the side or leave it open.) For me, the case is never open unless working in it, and in those situations, I prefer the inside to be brighter for better visibility.
Would this case be good for an UNRAID build? I am looking for at least 5-6 bays for drives.
I love this case. I have used it for an unRAID case for the last 1 1/2 years with no problems.
I loved it so much, I bought this for my new desktop pc about 6 months ago, and I just bought one again, with this deal, to replace the case on my Windows server PC as well.
anyone ever put an Ceton Infini TV tuner in this case, does this case work well as an HTPC w/ this tuner?
If you are going to build an HTPC to keep near the TV in the living/family room, you are better off with an HTPC case, like nMedia or Silverstone. Since those will blend in with the rest of your AV gear and won't look out of place.
6 TV's in the house with Verizon FiOS and we only pay $4.99/month to connect all 6 of them. Thanks to Ceton InfiniTV and Windows Media Center.
