Yeah, they still have stock of the 70's available. I would expect the 60's to go on sale next, but would think the 70's will be back on sale sometime before Christmas. I would get the 50's now if you want them. I don't see them going lower than 75 bones...and that's if they don't sell out anyways. |

Got my 70's and 50's in today. None of the 4 speakers had any broken grills, thankfully. Out of the box the 70's are what I expected them to be, great. The 50's, however, surprised me. They are better than I expected. Having them in my setting, I was impressed with the depth they had, even more bass than expected. Of course I do have my speaker equalizers on my receiver set to boost the bass somewhat. At any rate, very pleased all the way around and I know these will just get better after a break in period of a few weeks.

Question: I am temp using M40's as fronts till I got these bad boys and I have the 40's set as small speakers on the Onkyo receiver. With the 70's do I change this setting to large or leave as small? ![]() |

The 70's and 50's I bought I really didn't need, but bought because I wanted them. They replaced Sony SS-MF600 (mains) and Sony SS-F500 (surround sides). Now the Polk speakers do sound nice, but the thing is the Sony speakers also sounded pretty good. I know audio snobs will turn up their noses at Sony speakers, but these really do sound good for what they cost. I bought the MF600's for 70 bucks off craigslist and the F500's for 92 bucks, new from amazon.com. SO I spent 450 bucks to replace speakers that cost me 162 bucks. Was it an upgrade? Yes it was. Was it really worth spending $450? Can't really say it was. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't buy the Polk 70's and 50's and kept my $450. The Polk's sound cleaner than the Sony's, but the Sony's had better bass (8" woofers). I've hooked each up and listened, tweaked and compared. I got an upgrade for sure, just not on par with what I paid.
