Just remember that the 70's are bigger than they look in pics, and to place the 60's in the rear, you'll have to raise them a bit to bring them at ear level. IMO 60's for rear are overkill, I plan to just go with bookshelf's on stands.

Yes, definitely get with Bic F12. You don't need to have 70 if you have a Bic, 60 just sounds great. On the other hand, some at avsforum says you don't need a sub with 70. But I prefer with a good sub and 60.

Yeah 60's in back is a bit overkill, but I already have them. . .put them in back now, and eventually they will be moved to fronts of future house system #2 (yes eventually!)

I currently have a set of Klipsch Quintet SL's. Does anyone know if the Polk Monitor Series II would be a decent improvement over my existing set?

Thanks for mentioning this. I am in desperate need of something for my fronts. I currently have 40's that were intended for the rears. I have been waiting patiently for a deal on the 60's, but considered getting these instead. Since I have a F12 sub, I will continue to try to wait. Not sure how much longer I can hang on though.....

i have the 70's up front and the rock. I also have a psw12 and it all sounds great together. the 70's ARE bigger than they look in pics. my wife didn't like them at first until she heard them. now she's happy.

Generally speaking tower speakers will sound better then small satellite speakers which is what Quintets are. With tower speakers you gain better midrange sound, which is probably what matters the most since that is where human voice is. If you have space for towers, they are always the best choice.
As far as Klipsch vs Polk - they generally sound different. Klipsch speakers are brighter (emphasize higher frequency sounds) and Polk speakers are warmer (higher frequency sounds are rolled back). It really comes down to personal preference what kind of sound a buyer likes more - brighter or warmer. But quality wise Klipsch and Polk are comparable.

I have the series one monitor 70's. They are part of a complete monitors setup which includes some series two speakers. This is a fantastic price. Personally I had to have two subs with mine because when a cannon goes off in a movie, I want to feel it in my chest. But these speakers have plenty of base if you don't have to feel a change in room pressure.

I have 60s front, 50s rear. Now you got me thinking....70s front, 60s rear, 50s side? Maybe a christmas present for my wife...er um...for me.

because of my cat i am afraid to use them. I have junk in front of these speakers and have not used that room nor the tv.

For $300 a pair, there aren't a lot of 'good' floorstanders these days and generally, Polk is thought to provide pretty good value. I've read that refurbs of this same model sell for $175 each
