I use 30's for the rear, and a set of Monoprice in ceilings for the sides (big room, no place to put speakers on each side w/o cluttering up floor space). 30s for the rear, hanging on the wall, is pretty good!

I went from 50s to 60s to 70s to end up with a stupid 7.1 surround system.

70s are definitely leagues ahead of the 50s, but the 60s are appropriately in between. Problem with selling the 60s and 50s for surrounds is that you're going to lose too much in the price different when you sell your 50s or 60s (used) and then buy (new) 40s+stands.

My recommendation if you have 50s right now: upgrade to 70s at this price and move your 50s to surrounds.
If you have 60s: Don't upgrade at all. Save your $$ for the step above the 70s.

The inifini primus look sexy as hell, but I doubt they sound better than the Polk 70s which get rave reviews in the AVS forums.

If you want the best possible sound in this price range a good bookshelf speaker will sound more refined. The used market is often the best place to get great speakers on the cheap. Most $600+ retail speakers use better drivers, crossover parts, and the cabinets will be more solidly constructed. For floorstanders brand new, this is a good deal, though.

Yeah that looks more like selective hearing ..(read the comments)...for the price i see infinity much better a deal....you save 80$ plus some tax for one set

These are fantastic speakers if you have the space to fit them. Add a decent subwoofer, like the PSW505 and bi-amp the Monitor70's for a sweet 3.1/5.1 setup. Their price is only due to being a previous generation of their speaker line. Go ahead and try to tell the difference in sound between these and the $399 TSi500's. Less than half the price for no discernible difference to your ear (and that's the most important part!).
