Thread Details

This deal is listed in Page 9 of staples ad for the week 11/11 - 11/17. Limit 10 Staples Gift Cards per name/address/household. Of course, there is an activation fee of $5.99 on the $100 Visa / Master cards. Even after factoring in the activation fee, it is a potential $9 MM deal(in the form of Staples GC..) per VISA/Master card purchase.

I got the same response. Manager explained this is not a staples carried item and they are stocked from a third party. That might explain why the part number is not in the system.

I had no issues finding them in the Inland Empire at 2 Staples stores.

Confirmed what topher and mathfaster said
Went to staples store and found it after Staples chat staff said item not sold in a 20-mile radius. So you have to drive to the store and try to find one.

Really have to drive to the store to see for yourself. Online chat is useless for this item.

The AP payment I did today was via a Visa $200 card I bought and added to AP yesterday after I registered it. I have not added a MC to AP to know of it works. I believe it does as somewhere in this long thread is someone who said both work with AP. The previous rebate deal was only MCs so they should have first hand knowledge.

When you added and used on AP, did you just put your name(name of AP account) and address of AP account? I ask since GCs dont have name and address on them.

No, I registered the Visa card @ giftcardmall.com/mygift. You are supposed to do that to use them online. I have no idea what happens if you just try to add them to AP w/o registering. I just used the same name and address when registering that is on my AP account.

where do you see it's up to a limit of $1000?
i only see "Limit 10 Staples Gift Cards per name/address/household". Each rebate form, you will get 1 Staples Gift Cards. So based on their written terms, I can buy 10 x (any number of visa/mastercard gift cards) x $200 Smilie
Good luck with that.

The way I read it, and the way most read it before this "glitch" was exposed, is 1 rebate for a $100 MC/Visa purchase is worth a $15 GC. Limit is 10. $100 x 10 = $1000.

I just purchased 5*200, and you people are talking about 10*200 or even 10 transactions of 4*200. Maybe I will do five more transactions to see how things go,

I just tried to purchase one Visa $200 gift card and it wouldn't go through. They said it could only be purchased with a Debit card, not a Credit card. Cashier says it was a state requirement, (MN). Manager said it was store policy and has been that way for 4 years.

So are people buying these with credit or is it with debit cards? Is this a state of MN issue? Just to be clear, I wasn't using a gift card to try to buy this. I was using a Visa credit card. (I want to use this to help meet spending threshold.)

Do you know if anyone tried similarly cashing out via Serve?

If my memory is intact(?) someone posted that the Visa works on Serve but not the MC. The only issue with Serve from my standpoint is that Serve wants you to spend the money when loaded from a cc and frowns and could shut down your Serve account if you move the balance back to your checking account. Plus Serve's limit is $250/month in credit card loads?
