Thread Details

This deal is listed in Page 9 of staples ad for the week 11/11 - 11/17. Limit 10 Staples Gift Cards per name/address/household. Of course, there is an activation fee of $5.99 on the $100 Visa / Master cards. Even after factoring in the activation fee, it is a potential $9 MM deal(in the form of Staples GC..) per VISA/Master card purchase.

I have used Visa gift cards with Serve, from various rebates like Norton and Staples too. I think I have used some MC ones as well but not certain there.

Those Visa cards which you get from rebate work on serve. But I am not sure about the Visa gift card which you purchase from stores. I tried one of the visa gift cards I purchased from OD but it did not work in serve. I believe it should be the same with this deal also.

The physical buttons is a big advantage for the Nook but overall the consensus is that Paperwhite is this video might help [youtube.com] while comparing + this too [theverge.com].
The paperwhite is in very high demand but staples and frys are some of the few stores that you can find it at.
I've read the Verge review, and it didn't help me much, as I don't really care for Topolsky. The CNET video helps some, but I'd really rather hear from someone who has used both devices (night and day), who has an opinion of which is better.

I wonder what the 'feel' difference is. The Nook ST feels very natural in my hands. I'll have to visit Staples and see how the Paperwhite feels.

If I buy a $1000 gift card in a single transaction, then do I get $150 in staples gift cards? Or would it have to be 10 x $100 gift cards if I want to get $150 in Staples GC's?
Max denomination is $100 ea. So 10X, but you will get combined Staples GCs for ea transaction. So 10 one 1 transaction is 1 $150 GC Rebate.

Yep. Plus any cash back depending on what cc you use. If you use one or not decide to roll them one by one.

If I understand it correctly, here is one possible math

Buy $100 x 10 gift cards at staples in one transaction. Pay $1060 in this transaction.
You come back and fill in Staples Easy Rewards. You get back $150 in Staples gift card.

Is this $150 GC a one time use? or can I spread it out over multiple uses.

Also, does Staples GC has an inactivity or annual fees? Can I keep it and use it after say 2 years?

Do the Visa/MC cards that I purchased have an inactivity or annual fees? Can I keep them and use them after say 2 years?

Thanks so much..

Yes, you can use it over multiple purchases. No, there are no fees for Staples gcs. It is Staples Easy Rebate. Not Rewards which are something entirely different.

buying GC with reward has its down side though because the face value of the rewards isless than its real worth because of how tax is calculated, this is only a tremendous deal when you have just received a CC that you need to hit a spend limit on for a sign up bonus, this happened to me the last time this deal was up I couldnt have been luckier lol and at the time i had already used up AP and serve

So anyone do this last time they had the $10 rebate and did the rolling purchase method? Any issues?

what is that visa silver? does the card have that name or just the color of the card? Can you let me know what color the gift card package is? Since the gift cards are packed in some different themed packages, it will help if we know what we are looking for! Thanks in advance!

Yes, someone did. Must point out that it seemed like it was pretty long and drawn out. Definitely need a game CSR as well as no line behind you.

Well you could just get back in line every time if necessary. I have never tried it myself and not sure if it will work, but I figure I will buy one the first day and then just try it and if doesn't work, maybe will be able to come back the next day and do it or try at a different Staples.

With gas cost what it is, can't afford to be running around but if one is near your normal route, then could be worth it to try to roll it a few times at least, if not 10.
