Wouldn't it, at this point, make more sense to open a new account on Black Friday and get the $.96 S3 from Sam's and then just cancel the account and pay the ETF. I believe the ETF fee is $350 from Verizon.
Or the S3 will be $129 from Walmart and then get a $100 gift card (Or maybe this has been covered in the thread already) |

well, I think the point would be that you are not locked into a contract or using an upgrade. this is important for people that are still getting unlimited data via Verizon. As soon as they upgrade they will lose their unlimited data. Also, it gives you a great phone at a reasonable price. If you weren't eligible to upgrade in the near future, but needed a good phone now this would get you a phone to use that you can sell for probably minimal loss and then you can use your eligible upgrade when it comes due. |

Thanks. I saw that last month but I'm limited on time I can spend on trial and error. I was hoping that someone local has experience with the method shown in the video and can do it for me.
