I just bought four WB 3TB Green drives from them and the packaging was very good. They were sitting in the hard styrofoam (like the one here [imageshack.us], but only 4 slots) bubble wrapped and taped very well. They also had lots of paper around it as well to fill in the rest of the space in the box. I was impressed, especially after hearing how bad their packaging should have been. You can shake the box and nothing would move in side

PS. I only used two of the drives so far, and they both work. I don't expect to have any problems with the other two either.

these drives look to be more reliable than other consumer drives,but I wonder how they compare to enterprise level drives?

these drives should be 80 bucks by now, flood was over a year ago. And some manufacturer didnt even have factories there, its just a money grab for them by claiming "shortages"

Before the flood the Seagate Green 2TB was found as low as $70 regularly. Does the NAS features and bigger cache demand the extra $39 for this? Don't think so. Not yet.

The Red drives are worth the extra money if you are putting them in a NAS. There are features specific to NAS. It's not the right drive for other uses. Here's a link [wdc.com] that explains the benefits.

How about in a desktop under constant usage? I've heard the WD Green line has problems with aggressive head parking leading to shortened drive life. I have one now, but it's in use almost non-stop due to a torrent client. Will that usage negate the head-parking problem, or should I plan on upgrading to a WD Red?
