the MSI card looks to have faster memory than the XFX also, these cards need all the help they can get.

To the posters above: the MSI card is a gret deal too. This one is fanless and has a smaller rebate. I am sure that is a consideration for some. Pick your poison, I guess. |

Will this handle 1080 res? blu-ray? maybe even some decent games?

To answer my own question: it appears that this performs about on par with integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics but several tiers below the performance of integrated Intel HD 4000. On the integrated AMD side, anything A6 or above far outperforms this card (and even A4 chips slightly outperform this card).
Still a good deal for an aging system to re-purpose it as an HTPC or something. |

I bought an XFX HD6450 fanless with 2GB RAM about this time last year for ~$30, to replace an XFX 8500GT fanless. It is in my HTPC, does the job nicely, the audio over HDMI works. I would presume this card is very similar and should work well in a HTPC or any other light duty system you need quiet. It's windows experience index was lower than my 512MB 6600, not sure why, but performance-wise very similar. And hey, the 6600 had no HDMI, so no deal... Nice find OP
