so i called to save some gas, and said they have in stock but in a box and they cant sell it until they assemble it on tuesay. so what to do?

Got the last , one in GB, WI...no tag, no clearance sticker. First salesman said we were SOL and refused to even scan the darn thing to see if it was actually clearance. Found a second guy when we were walking around with the tag. Scanned it and said that was the price but none left. Of course, we knew differently. Thanks, OP. Should make the kid happy on Christmas.

I would go up and pay for it now to pick up on Tuesday - speak to a manager till they find a way to do it. Explain to them that it is on clearance and you want it at this price.

Honestly, if you do it yourself, you'll probably have a better quality build. I've had to re-do Target assembly jobs on parts of bikes I've got from them.

Woohoo! My first Target clearance YMMV deal that was successful. It was marked $279 and hanging on the wall so I had to get an employee to scan it. Came up at the $86 price.

My Marin is better quality as far as shifters go, but for $86 and dual suspension it's a steal.

I find it absurd they won't sell the bike in the box. Honestly if they told me they had one in the box and that I couldn't buy it; that I'd have to buy the beat up one on the floor or wait for someone to mis-assemble it for me, I probably would have stormed out. As it is, I went over mine with a fine-tooth comb. I was amazed at how good condition it was still in after a) being assembled by target employees and b) sitting out for 2 months on the shelf... A single scratch and a couple fine adjustments.

I picked one up from the Target in Huntington Beach yesterday around 1pm... decent bike.. I like the trigger shifters for the derailers... just need to put some air in the tires...

Disappointed this doesn't have brembos.

Scored the last one in Westbury, NY. They had to get it from the back and did not believe the price it rang up for! Thanks OP!

Someone got there literally 1 minute before me and got the last bike. Close but no cigar lol been sad about this deal the whole day
