You link to a different, more expensive model. Just link to the correct model [amazon.com] and there's nothing to try and keep in mind. |

Fixed it thanks! Dont know why I couldn't find it originally |

It's all good.. note they also have the D4 [amazon.com]which is a 4 Ohm version for $54. No idea which is better, probably varies by application more than better/worse These are unpowered so you also need to buy an amplifier in case anyone doesn't know. Looks like this is a frequent sale item and price for Best Buy. It's not the pinnacle of car audiophile paraphernalia but it seems decent for $40. Just realize that if you have a stock car audio system you probably need a collection of parts before you can actually upgrade sensibly.

This is a good price for a 12" sub, especially from Pioneer. |

So you need a monoblock sub amp stable down to 1 ohm to get the most out of the sub's power capability. But a 2-/3-/4-channel amplifier could work for the 4 ohm lowered power handling configuration. |

4-ohm voice coils will give you 4-ohm load which is commonly the lowest impedemce bridged 2-channel amps can handle. 2 ohm voice coils will either give you a 2 or 8 ohm load which unless you have a high current amp 2 ohms mono may be too low of impedence for your amp. If you have a 4 channel like the Jbl for $99 they just had get the 2ohm voice coil version bridge the amp to a two channel and run one set of subs off of each set of channels @ 4 ohms (2 ohm voice coil ran in series)

Rockford Fosgate Punch 201S [crutchfield.com]
50 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms 100 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms 200 watts RMS x 1 bridged output at 4 ohms stereo or bridged mono output 4-ohm stable in bridged mode i have that amp, and only want to run one sub. So do I want the D2 or the D4? I plan on running bridged. Common sense tells me to get the 4ohm sub, but I am not known for having good common sense.
