I know, a lot of people are envious. They are older '99 models with the minimum liability, no collision or PiP. I just think most insurance is a scam but it's the law here. I have a good driving record, good credit score and probably 20yrs of loyalty. I only drive to the grocery store once a week so hardly even need a oil change, maybe once a year.

no way. the older cars, the more you will pay for your insurance, since they do not have any modern protections. i got the same that you have: min liability, no collision or PiP, best driving record, zero tickets/accidents, good credit score and have been with them for 10+ years with 30 years in driving record. 2 cars with less than 5,000 miles/ year total. more than $350/month for both. my cars are newer than yours. i still dont get it, unless you have some picts to prove. remember, the older the cars are, the more you will pay for your insurance.

We have two 2000 Ford Focuses and we pay $372.40 total a year for both cars combined with Geico and I don't believe we have the bare bones all the way around, just on some parts. Does state of residency affect premiums? Maybe that is why yours is so high microkelvin...? We are in NYS.

must be my state then. are you still talking about geico rate? i know there are some crazy rates out there for statefarm or allstate but that's after loyalty discounts (after 15+ years) and multi-family member discount.

I thought older cars would cost more, at least in collision, cheaper to replace. I forgot to mention when I sold my 3rd car (actually 2 trucks and one wagon) they sent me a check for around $200 last summer Some sort of adjustment but I sure didn't want to call them on it.
