Xtreme Tab 7 Tablet at Sears/Kmart

So, I'm looking for a decent budget android tablet for the wife to tinker with and use as an ereader web surfing machine. I see in the Sears and Kmart ads the Xtreme Tab 7 for $40. Looking online for more info I found what looks like a newly set up website about this tablet with a few more specs and info. http://www.xtremetab.com/xtremetab-7-capactive/

Now, for some reason the Sears ad shows the tablet as 2gb storage the Kmart ad 4gb storage. Seeing as they are essentially the same company will it be the same tablet? I don't have a Kmart near. If it is indeed a Capacitive touch screen at this price and specs I think I know where I'll be going.

Should I be worried the Sears ad is different? Or just a misprint on their part?

If there is a better deal for a cheap tablet where should I look?

If you can deal with a single point resistive touch screen then its a good deal at $40. If it actually were capacitive touch then this would be a great deal. Odd that the website you link to shows the same tablet as capacitive.

Why change the name of the tablet in the ad to Xtreme when it is actuall Mach Speed.....I figured for $40 it had to be resistive but I was hoping it was capacitive. Oh well. I can't do resistive. I don't see anywhere that this says resistive. In fact, the only tablet listed at http://www.xtremetab.com is capacitive.

The link I posted, which is now dead mentioned it as resistive. It could have been wrong but thats what it said on Kmart's website.

Simply put: Resistive requires pressure (think stylus point) while capacitive requires touch.
Resistive will work with almost anything, finger, fingernail, stylus, pen; any stylus shaped object really.
Capacitive will only work with skin touch.

Resistive can be good but Capacitive is better.
At $40, the resistive screen will be crap.

It has a capacitive screen. They set up a website for this version of the tablet precisely for this Black Friday event, or so it rather directly seems. The Xtreme Tab on the website is the same shape (slightly odd compared to most generic tablets) as the other, and notes that it is multi-point (at least 2-points of contact). So you would pinch to zoom.

This is a great deal for a tablet to mess around with, and I'm guessing an XDA or SlateDroid page for it will crop up in the next few days with rooting instructions so you can get Google Play on there instead of whatever custom app store is most likely in its place.. If not, Amazon appstore still has a solid collection.

The reason most people don't seem to notice this is because they have totally separate ad scans for the Thursday sale. That's part of the reason I think that it will be considerably less crowded for the Thursday morning madness.
