It seems like all the providers are giving away the S3 for free, not necessarily Sams. It is the promotion from Samsung For eg. Tmo is here [t-mobile.com]. I am not a plus member and got the snail mail invite. Call yesterday and spoke to the cell phone guy at my local Sams. He told me that there is no limit on number of devices you can buy and that you reserve your spot and setup a time to come in on next Mon-Wed for the signing up process .. the devices will NOT be handed to us on this Sunday. Is there an activation fee when you sign up for the plan at Sams?
I need a iphone5 32gb for wifey and wondering how to get on this S3 deal and a iphone to go together on my family plan .. I am likely on the 'iphone for dumb masses' bandwagon and clueless about iphone and whether I can get two separate plans (one from Sams and other from Apple) and call Verizon about merging the two plans together and porting our numbers from Tmo. Any suggestions? Last edited by flydeep; 11-16-2012 at 06:03 AM.. |

Rep unto others as you would have them Rep unto you.

Also, they have two separate inventories for the VIP event Sunday night and BF, and won't be dipping into their BF reserves to fill orders. |

I just got back from my local Sams, here they are not signing up the folks on Sunday since it will take ~ 1/2hr per signup and the entire event is 2 hrs. So they are going to put a name tag and ask us to come later (Mon-Wed for signup and pickup). There is no activation fee and you can return the phone/cancel line within 14 days and you do not pay anything. Within 30 days you can swap out for another phone without penalty.
All regular advantage card members who got the physical invites are eligible for this event since they were targeted (some crap about being in the top 500 of I don't know what) . No activation fee+$0.96/S3 phone with 14 day return+30 day phone swap seems like a good deal. They also had the Square trade 2 yr hardware warranty (no phone internals but cracked screen, spills, etc) for $49. The deductible if you claim is $50.

For what it's worth I went to my local Sams and signed up for a Plus membership. I got the $20 gift card and an additional $25 as a corporate discount from my job. I was handed an invitation with my new membership and I talked to the person in charge on Sunday. She told me they're going to hand out tickets either in line or as people walk in.
In addition she said despite having 25 in stock they're only able to sell 10 TV's at that price. Perhaps not all of your local stores will do that, but mine is. I plan to get there sufficiently in advance. 2-3 hours of waiting is worth it for $300. Especially considering my TV budget is really $700-$800. I don't see anything else out there I feel like would be a better deal. I think the second best deal would be the 55" Panasonic IPS LED 3D TV, but that's an additional $200. |

I am looking at Verizon. There was a VZW rep onsite, my discussion was fruitful since I had the store manager, the VZW rep and sams mobile cust. rep together when I fired my questions. The store manager and the rep fumbled on lot of details and the VZW corrected them on many of their answers. It is surprising with how much conviction the store reps give false information although they do not have much clue.
I assumed that the no activation fee was across all carriers, it may help you call them directly. |

I have an Advantage Plus account and received an email talking about the event. Yesterday the actual hard copy invitation came in the mail. I was hoping that the three Blu-Ray's they were offering for $9.99 were going to available, but it doesn't look to be the case. The only thing even remotely interesting to me was the Rubbermaid storage set for $9.95 or something like that. Not going to waste time and gas going to their VIP event this year. BF, I dash in, grab the BD's and head to the cashier.
