I'd jump on this but I think it's a bit out of my price range...and a 50" TV might look ridiculous in my bedroom haha. I'm also a little weary of how dim it is. We have a 50" plasma in the living room from about 5 years ago but I'm always surprised at how bright it can get.

Sure took this a long time since it was posted to go FP. Also interesting that this thread got resurrected shortly after I mentioned the price in another thread . If it was me shopping for a TV this would be a contender, but my search is for my parents and looking at a price of $400 max.

Well, this model was on sale in Costco for a while, I mean I have seen it every other month or so.
Since it doesnt have build in Wifi I am refraining myself. If its VT or GT model then I would jump. I guess I will have to wait BF for a deal on either model to come on some deal. But if you are not looking for build in wifi then this is best TV, Plasma + Panasonic, they are beating LED TV's now. |

Like the price but Plasma gives off so much heat. At the front, at the back, at the top. It is competing with me on hot summer days.

if you dont have a newer multi-HDMI receiver then look into it. Why would anyone buy a 50" plasma and NOT already have a minimum 4 HDMI surround setup? If one is cheap/frugal,the panasonic 1022-k is $249 right now at newegg and has 6 HDMI in. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...17410-L02C Last edited by BIGFOOT_PI; 11-11-2012 at 09:51 PM.. |

For myself I often hook up computers to TVs, so 1080p is really nice for the extra pixels in that case. Also, I've had issues with cropping on 720p TVs when using it as a monitor (edges of videos get cut off etc), haven't had that with 1080p. Last edited by YadGadge; 11-11-2012 at 09:51 PM.. |
