Is there a difference between 3D ready and 3D?

Anyone know how reflective this screen is?

Sorry, some people cant afford more than that and 299 buys them the opportunity to have a decent size tv. I dont think they would consider it garbage. Sorry you dont see that. Maybe its not for the tv snob but some people would be damn grateful to even have one. Read the newspapers lately?

3D ready means you need another outside 3d source to get the 3D experience.. Which 3D means the everything is built in the TV

on amazon they have the 60" for 898. what do you guys thing about this? I have a 32" LCD 720p. you think its worth the jump or jump for the smaller 50"?

I price matched this to Sam's at BestBuy for the same price a few months ago. I got it to replace 6 year old 720P in the MBR. Great TV.... Yes, it does not have some of the bells and whistles (VIERA, more inputs, etc) but for the price it is a great value. This is a great bedroom or bonus room TV.

In my case. It's in a second bedroom with older Yamaha A/V receiver I am just using as a pre-amp that does not have HDMI. With the other stereo stuff I have in there, I don't need a receiver with a lot of features, just something that will do a good clean job decoding and send it to my amps. I need a decent dedicated A/V preamp/decoder but they cost more than most A/V integrated receivers.

It's got to do with a flicker rate built in to the TV that created a three dimensional illusion while wearing the glasses (or a blurred screen potentially without wearing the glasses). I can't really school you on this, I am not an expert. BUT, you can't buy a BD that's 3D and expect it to work without the 3D tv. You can however, get a generic 3D movie from 10 years ago and watch it with the multicolor 3D passive glasses, but it's not the same as it's different technology.

I'm confused. Why would you want a price match from a store that charges state sales tax?

Dumb question... can I hook a laptop up to this? (or PC I suppose)

Very reflective. Multiple threads on this tv and it's Costco / Sams Club counterparts address this and the image brightness (vs LCD/LED units) aspects of this TV. You need a darkened room to take full advantage of this TV's (or any plasma TV) picture quality.

As someone who just purchased this TV set, I honestly have no idea what those reviewers are talking about. Maybe they live in Arizona and have big windows or something. Out of the box I turned the brightness and contrast down to 25 and it is still bright. I was checking the other presets like game and cinema and the brightness hurt my eyes. Besides, everyone knows that a dimmer picture is a truer picture. Whites do not glow in real life. Colors do not bloom in real life. LCDs create an artificially bright picture to fool the eyes into thinking it is crisp.

This TV is awesome. All of the drawbacks I read about (reflective screen, dimness, and poorer viewing angle) turned out to be BS. I recommend this TV more than any device I have ever purchased. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PICTURE for <$600.
