I've been holding out for an S110 deal, but I'm tempted to jump on this. I know they're basically the same lens and sensor specs, but I've read reviews that claim the S110 works slightly better in low light, which is where I usually find myself shooting.

Can anyway confirm, deny, or expand upon this?

why does the canon s95 cost more than this model?

s95 didn't have the lens problem and it is better than s100

This often happens with previous generation models as the supply becomes limited. Also, some find the S95 IQ to be better. (I had both, and they were close; I had a slight preference for the S95 IQ in more circumstances, and I found the build quality slightly better.)

i might want to add that the S110 is coming out soon or maybe it is out already...so it could be why prices are plummeting.

S95 has sharper image quality so there isn't much if a point unless you want the GPS and fancier features this one has... I'd say it's not worth the extra money though.

i bought the S100 in October and was immediately disappointed. White balance was terrible and battery life was awful. i bought a s95 refurb with spare battery a couple weeks ago for over $100 less and have been overwhelmingly impressed. Soo pleased with it. only thing that i wish i had that the S100 had was the dedicated video button and the 95 video streaks in lights. but then again, the 95 doesnt make constant noises on the video like the 100 did.

i primarily need this camera for low light in bars and clubs for work so this is where its at.

but, between the two, the rumours are all true. i hemmed and hawed over this for a long time waiting for newer potentially better models. wished id just paid the 400 2 years ago
