Contradicting statements.. do these guys take us to be fools?

Don't buy the S100, force Canon to drop the price to move the inventory and don't rely on indefinite warranty on the S100. It ends in 1year. If you are out of warranty, call Canon and bitch about it and they will probably make an exception

In my opinion, this wording is dumb

The service period is different from the warranty. The service period ends when Canon stops supporting the camera completely (parts, repairs, updates, etc). For example, the Canon Powershot A95 was released September 2004 and the service period ended July 2012.
