The frame is different. There are no existing holes for the wheels. There is no spot to attach the arms for the wheel kit either. Same generator as the wheel version but different frame in a few ways. You can make you own though with some parts from harbor freight or similar.

Don't buy the wheel kit and expect it to work on the $199 one from HD. Northern tool sells the same models of powermate. Look at the pic's there and zoom in to the handles, wheel mounts, etc. then look at the one without the wheel kit. The fame is different.

yes- noticed that! will rig my own- am not too worried. just bought a generator wheel kit.

Sorry about that. The only thing I went shopping for on Friday was the HD generator. I got to the store at 4:15, first in line. Only about 20 in line at 5am opening. Very orderly, no jerks. People were respectful and there were no issues at all. Most of the people in line were after the Christmas trees and lights. I bought a generator for myself and a friend. Two other people bought one each. So there were still 4 when I left although I don't think they lasted long. I went home and was asleep again before 6am.

Set your alert on slickdeals for generators. There will be some deals at some point in the next 6 months.

Ya well, with most of the people here without power for multiple weeks between the last 2 years, 21 days total for me, I wasn't holding out hope.

Checked local HD and then went on-line and picked up the genny for $199 instead of the displayed $239. I can had my own wheels and hour meter for less then the $200 difference that the same model has with those options. Great Deal.

check your local store inventories online. by chance i did a search of the orlando area and found 21 (20 now) available at 6 different stores.

has anyone who ordered online received a ship notification yet?

Two commenters have asked a similar question without a response, but I'll try again:
I was reading the manual that came with this generator and it stated that if your refrigerator has a digital display (which the temp control is digital on mine...same way with my deep freeze) then it is a "Solid State Device" and a "Power Line Conditioner" should be utilized between the generator and the fridge. A quick google search for power line conditioner came back with some ridiculously pricey apparatuses...like $700. If I really need something like that, then I should have just bought a $900 Honda or Yamaha inverter generator...or do I really 'need' that. It isn't a surge suppressor, but I'm not knowledgable enough about what a power line conditioner does to know if I need it or not. Anyone care to share some knowledge??

This here is a great power conditioner for sensitive electronics, other wattage amounts are avail too.
