Home Depot Black Friday: Powermate 3000-Watt Portable Generator with Manual Start $199.00

I stopped in 2 of my local Home Depots in NE Ohio to take a look at these. They not only didn't have them...they didn't have any generators. Turns out they shipped them all out to the East coast because of Hurrican Sandy. They told me they haven't even been able to order any generators in at all and really aren't sure when they will. I really wanted to take advantage of this Black Friday deal...but in reality, they need it a lot more than I do.

I was just at a Home Depot and they had 8 of the generators at $199

Good question...they were just setting them up when I took the pic, but they didn't put anything over them to cover them up like the other bf deals already set out. I wonder if I went back and tried to buy one, if it would ring up at $199?

Just got the BF ad in the mail. Mine lists the generator. The fine print says unless specified, prices are good from 11/22 - 11/28/12, excluding commodities, while supplies last.

Since the stores are closed on Thursday, I'm guess they'll be honoring some of their BF ad prices online. I wonder if the generator falls under the "free shipping over $45" policy.

Location is Long Island, NY, FWIW.

Anyone have any luck pulling this item up via the inventory checker?

Just tried it. The nearest 6 stores have 5, 8, 8, 2, 8, and 9, in distance order.

OK, so it is just me. Looks like I'll be SOL for this deal then. Every store within considerable driving distance says "Item not sold at this store."

Hey surf, you might not be SOL after all. I just ordered one online, same price, no shipping. I haven't gotten the confirmation email yet, but I guess delays could be expected on BF.
