I would recommend, if you are serious about it, to contact NEST and they will tell you if it will work <or if you need the second version, etc>. They may ask you to take a pic of your wiring. The cover comes off easily enough. |

Now I start to wondering if I should stay away from this expensive gadget. I checked compatibility and either one should work for me. But maybe I should rather go with 1st gen 5y warranty over 2y for 2nd gen? Any ideas? |

Any idea when new firmware is coming out and if there is any hope to have the current temperature in big numbers instead of what's the current target temperature. That would be much more valuable info on display. |
