Video cards and gaming mice sales, anyone?

i am almost on the same boat except im willing to spend no more than $250. i could have gotten on that deal a couple days back with the $230 7950 on amazon, but for some reason i thought it was a warm deal. now im kicking myself for passing up on it.

i just built a new rig too =[ guess i just have to use the integrated graphics in the 3570k for now...

The real deals on ATI cards were earlier this year - you could have been Bitcoin mining and paid off your card by now

True, with my hash rate of 300mh/s though it would take almost a whole year to mine one block and in a team the rates are much much lower. Plus my power bill would of gone from $70/mo to ~$90/mo.

At least that's my understanding from working through some bitcoin mining and reading forums from people who had the same card as me.

If I had the cash I would have done it but didn't at the time because I just upgraded to a 3570k, asrock z77 and 8gb DDR3. With my hd5850 and the virtuMVP it runs most games pretty well! I'd like to max them out and try out 3D though. Like I said, moved to Colorado and I'm going to be bored for awhile. And cold.

I'm running a 5770 here and recently got a 2560x1440 monitor so I'm itching to upgrade. Looking at the same cards as well.

you have the extreme 4 asrock? i just ordered 16gb of ram from newegg, i had a 6850 but sold it, and i have abacklog of many games i havent touched cause of my c2d i just upgraded from... winter will be interesting this year!

I just started building a machine for a pc/hackintosh system: gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5-TH, 16 GB ram. Currently waiting for the microcenter BF ads. I am hoping to score a good price on a similar graphics card that you all mentioned as well as a $150 (or less) i5 3570k. I would keep an eye out for their ad. If not, then cyber monday would also be another option. Hell, if the i7 prices are hot enough, i may just spring for that over the i5.

they had a ivy bridge+ mobo combo for an extra $40 off till today. i went and did it yesterday, got a 3570k and an asrock extreme 4 for like $265
and since i had good parts from before, im saving a tonnnn of money. hx750 psu= one of the best investments i made when computer building. 1tb hdd is a close second. still using them after years and years of operation

yeah I saw that! I was actually going to get that same combo until I looked further into the hackintosh specs. I decided to go gigabyte instead as they seem to be a little more user friendly right out of the box. That extreme 4 is a sharp board. I picked up the front page antec 300 and TX750 deals so I figure I am off to a decent start.

ahh a very nice budget build then! i had the modular brother of the tx750, and my case looks damn neat.

as you can see, there is no ram and video card. and my ssd is just crudely sitting on top of my hdd. lmao.

i still have to reverse the orientation of the side fan to make it intake and cover the side panel with a foam to block loose dust particles from entering. gonna throw in a couple 140mm fans in the rear and top to keep the air pressure from becoming too positive inside the case, as well as sealing any other obscure and unnecessary holes. also hoping that all those fans wont get any louder than a nice white-noise-like hum, cause ive had a jet engine of a computer before. not fun for anyone

tl;dr i havent built a computer in like 5 years and im giddy like a schoolboy getting a toy car. i dont get excited for stuff anymore, getting old sucks =P

Yeah an asrock extreme 4. The UEFI bios are a nice touch, makes overclocking easy but take a few moments to read about all the options (a lot).

Once you get a vid card you can install virtumvp from the asrock website and it uses the I-GPU in the 3570k to monitor the frame buffer. This means your video card works less (renders less frames that will be discarded) and decreases input lag. The virtual vsync surprisingly works and my guild wars 2 was damn near unplayable until I activated it.

21-25fps before MVP.
35-45fps after MVP.

CSGO fps went up significantly but mostly just incredibly smooth now, works well with a 120hz monitor.

P.S.: ya lol, my bro is helping me make some brownies for the blops 2 release since he doesn't allow smoking indoors. (he doesn't smoke but doesn't condemn me for it) and there probably won't be recreational shops for a month or so. Right now its still medicinal and not 100% set in stone.
