Drive Shipment Packing Practices
NOTE: Newegg has been known for using sub-par shipping materials when shipping mechanical hard drives. As a result, drives are more often DOA than they should be. Amazon on the other hand uses superior packing. It has been a while since I've ordered a drive from Newegg, so if things have improved please correct me if they finally got their act together!

Not bad...wish the 3TB would have a better price point. Already have 2TB drives....would rather add 4x3TB instead.

I know what you are saying. I'm actually not a 100%. I didn't think Amazon shipped bare drives, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone who has bought drives from them could f/u and I'll update the post.

3TB external usb3.0 drive was $138 front page yesterday or a couple days ago. By xmas internals should be in the 120$ range on a SD

Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

costco has a seagate 3tb external drive on black friday for $99, for those wanting a 3tb sub $120. Pretty sure you can open it and use it as internal though i am not a big fan of seagate.

You cannot make the comparison between drives like the one you mentioned and these Red drives. The Red drives are rated for 24/7 use, and backed by a three year warranty. With that said, I personally am waiting on a 3TB Red drive at the ~$130 price point.  Heres to wishful thinking.
