So I'm been considering using Google Voice as my Home phone and one of these is what I'd need, right? Is there a reason to get the 110 over the 100?
Has there been any confirmation that GV will still be free going into next year? I currently pay $100/yr for unlimited service plus $2/mo or so for the 911 and other taxes and crap. Thanks. |

I got this one from Amazon last week and paid the same price. I use Betamax providers for calling overseas and was using SPA3102 ATA. So, after getting the Obihai device, I tested it with my provider. Yes, the quality is on par with my Linksys one.
People who are getting this for free Google voice should be aware that the Google might impose charges in 2013. My suspicion is that there is a reason that Obihai is clearing their prime products. Does anybody know what will happen if the company goes down and the obitalk portal goes along with it? |
Secondly, even if google did charge a fee in 2013 for voice, it would likely be around $20 per year. Google is smart enough to figure out what the line in the sand is for people to continue to use their service AND pay a fee if that should happen. It will not be some ridiculous fee whatsoever. Thirdly, Obi works with providers other than GV. Plenty of them. So people who own obi or want to own obi can just leave GV should they not want to pay the $20ish fee if that happens. Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 20 weeks, 4 phone calls, still no rebate |

Anyone know the cheapest way to port a landline into GV? I know I have to port from Landline to cell phone and form cell phone to GV, but what's the cheapest way? I have some old Virgin Mobile phones laying around if that helps. Otherwise I've sen people mention getting a SIP from TMobile for $5 or something?

You would also lose the free calling between ObiTalk users but I can't imagine many people are relying on this. |

I like how you talk a bunch of crap on this poster for contemplating whether Obihai has some inside knowledge about Google Voice status for next year (or maybe has drawn some conclusion on their own by say, listening to earnings reports). Then, you go on to presume yourself to know everything including exactly how much Google would charge for their services..
