I tried ordering from Microcenter's website and I got a confirmation email but they were not even shipping it for 7 days and it warned that low inventory items might be sold out and the order could be cancelled so I called and they said all 3 warehouses are sold out. Some local stores still have them but I am not near any.
I read http://www.jr.com/ would price match microcenter but when I called they only offered to reduce the price from $1,000 to $900. J&R's policy has a lot of loopholes for them to not pricematch so I wasn't surprised.
I tried price matching with bestbuy.com but they said the nearest micro center was 110miles from me and they only price match within 25 miles... so that will work for some of you but not me.
I tried pricematching at the local best buy and they offered to lower the price from $1,000 to $900. When I said that wasnt their policy they said its an item they don't stock and special orders aren't covered by the policy they were only offering to be nice.
I emailed Amazon and clicked the link on the product page and notified them of a better price but lets get real, Amazon's price policy says they only match TVs.
I would have to pay sales tax at best buy thus making the deal a bit worse anyway. Any other ideas where I could try?
I paid $500 for a "perfect pixel" guarantee one where the ebay seller powered it on and did some QC tests on it to verify no dead pixels or bleeding. It shipped from Korea and took about 3 days to get here.
The panel is no different between the Catleap I bought and this Samsung or a 27" Apple
That isn't true. The Samsung has nothing in common with those Koren monitors and is better in every way including a better panel that they make themselves unlike Apple buying the panel you have from LG. The "Korean" panel is the same at the Apple except that Apple rejected all of those panels because they had dead pixels, dust in them, LED bleed around the edges, or some other reason, and that is why they get re-branded on the generic market. Not to mention everything else about the monitor except the panel is different than the Apple (that means worse).
MOST IMPORTANTLY their perfect pixel guarantee for $60 extra is not a real guarantee. They simply refund you the $60 if the pixels are not perfect. People are reporting getting messed up pixels at the same rate with the "pixel perfect guarantee" ones as the normal ones so basically if you lcuk into a pixel perfect one they get to keep your extra $60. They do not inspect them in anyway.
Not to threadcrap, but why not just get a TV and use that as a monitor? 8-hundo for a 27" screen seems really expensive. I've got a TV w HDMI hookup to my desktop and it is fantastic...
This is the absolute best mainstream monitor Samsung currently sells. Its probably targeted at picky people.
This one is likely better for gaming
The Samsung is more likely to show some motion blur in a VERY fast paced first person shooter game than a 120mhz monitor. Other than that all of my research indicates this is the best monitor for... EVERYTHING!
