No. The only way you can buy $500 on a single card is on the variable loads. Please review my previous post.

The $100 cards are most definitely worth it if you are using a good rewards card like the Amex Blue Cash Preferred. Consider:

Purchase 5 of the $100 for $529.75 including fees. You will have 2120 fuel points. After your Amex BCP cashback your out of pocket is $497.97. Use your fuel points (get all 35 gallons, this is important), and you'll save $70 on gas. You cannot replicate this savings with the variable load Visa/MC/Amex cards.

Some people sell Kroger Plus cards because they are obtaining far more points than they could ever personally use.

You can use points at Shell. Max discount is 10c/gallon (on already marked up gas).
