 I just keep it for the no annual fee, purchase protection, and the specials Amex runs all year. Really worthwhile for it + authorized users.

Yep, I bring 5 gallon gas containers. Usually we fill up 2 cars at a time and put the rest in containers. My husband bought a 100 gallon drum (or something like that) and it's almost full.

I can confirm that this deal is now live in my area - after buying $500 in Amazon GC's this morning we got 35 gallons of gas for less than $40. I know that worst case we'll have cheap gas until at least the end of December, and I'm hoping that Kroger will extend their max discount of $2/gallon into 2013.

I purchased a $500 amazon GC in a kroger. I logged on and checked that I had 2000 fuel points in my account for this month.
When I went out to the pump (gap of maybe 30 minutes), the pump did not recognize or give me an option to use my 2000 fuel points. How long do you have to wait before you can redeem the fuel points? Does anyone know through experience? |

They usually show up quickly. Maybe it's next day now. I can't get the Kroger website to show what cards are eligible.

Sorry if it's already been posted,but at Safeway from 11/14-21,if you buy $150 of selected Gift Cards, you also get a coupon for $25 off groceries. I know for sure this applies to Amazon and Staples GC,and it stacks with the fuel rewards.The complete list of gift cards is on the front page of the weekly ad (in green at the bottom). So a $150 gift card purchase will kick out one $25 cat Q, and a 60 cents/gallon discount. I did this on 11/14 and my Q expired on Thanksgiving.

I'm in Michigan ... this week (at Staples) I purchased $1,000 Visa/Mastercard gift cards ... paid $39.70 for activation (4-$200 Visa Card -$6.95 each & 2-$100 Mastercards-$5.95 each) ... in exchange for $150.00 Staples gift card (in process) ... Krogers allows me to use these Visa/Mastercards to purchase a variety of 'other' gift cards ... e.g., Amazon, Aertopostale, Sears, Tracphone, restuarants, etc.
Thus, I'm able to convert my $1,000 in Visa/Mastercard gift cards to $1,000 in other gift cards (great for Christmas shopping) plus $140.00in gas (I use multiple cars to get 35 gallons for each fill-up too) ... Thx to all Sd'ers who have taught me how to be an effective & efficient consumer!! |
