Kroger 4x Fuel Points on Gift Cards Nov 18 - Dec 9: SAVE UP TO $70 PER FILL UP
This is what I've been waiting for - I just got a print out at the Kroger checkout lane saying it will happen again from Nov 18 until Dec 9. If you have a Kroger nearby and are planning a large purchase consider the gift cards from Kroger. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, etc. $100 in gift cards will get you 400 points = 0.40 cents off per gallon, better yet $500 in gift cards allows you to save $2/gallon for up to 35 gallons for a single fill up = $70 in savings.

Reason: added general deal picture
general Q >> if you buy a GC w/ a CC that gets CB - do you still get the CB or is it different for GCs?
You get the cash back -- the credit card company doesn't know what you're buying, they just see the total. I use my American Express Blue Cash Preferred card and get 6% cash back, including gift cards.
Also remember that your fuel points typically only are valid for the month that you purchase them in and the next month. So if you buy gift cards and get fuel points on November 15th, they expire at the end of December.
This is important for those who don't have Kroger gas stations that allow using all your points at once. Here in Southern California there are no Kroger gas stations (at least near me) and I have to use the fuel points at Shell. These give $0.10/gallon discount for 100 fuel points, but you can't use 500 fuel points for $0.50/gal off, it's capped at 100 fuel points. So if you buy $300 in gift cards and get 1200 fuel points you'd need to fill up 12 times before they expire, which may be unlikely.

My print out in indianapolis says nov 15 to dec 12
I'm pretty sure the Kroger gift card is excluded. - I tried pulling that one last time they had this and it didnt give me any points at all.
edit: NVM - i re-read what OP wrote and I just read it too fast.

Reason: i'm dumb
You get 1X points for pre paid visa/master cards. I am hoping that it will go up to 2X during this event. I use my Amex card for the 6% off even though that is now limited to 6K for the calendar year.
I see now on the webpage that I posted earlier:
Excludes The Kroger Co. Family of Stores gift cards, Green Dot® prepaid reloadable products, MoneyPaks® and American ExpressR® Variable Load, Visa® Variable Load, 1-2-3 REWARDS® Reloadable Visa® Prepaid Debit Card and MasterCard® Variable Load gift cards.
Thanks for the correction....their fancy GUI on that page seems to indicate you do get 1x points, though.
