Just got the Smart Cover today and it came in a plastic bag. It looks a bit beat up and definitely used, which is a stretch of a brand new open box. Apparantly smart covers have serial numbers. The green one I ordered appears to be legit.

My gray smartcover came in the mail in a plastic bag only. Other than the metal magnet bar being bent, nothing seemed wrong w/ it, and it is pretty clean.
It had none of the telltale signs of a fake in the youtube video. It used brushed metal, correct size, smooth uniform texture, clear serial number, and embossed instead of stamped text. |

This has got to be fake.. though a good fake. The text is different than the iPad 2 case I got from apple originally. I will post samples later. I'm going to stop by the apple store for my home button and will compare there too.
