darnit! screw the 20% this weekend then.

i'm going all out tonight!

Go laureelee go! Do a few transactions and then go to another register so they don't get suspicious. And if they question anything just tell them you did it before and already spoke with a manager about. Be really assertive. Get snippy with them if you have to. An associate told me that they will do anything to make a customer happy so if you tell them you will never come back they will do it for sure. Let us know what you got when you get back!

Wow, that sounds incredibly rude. I'd hate to have you as a customer.

^ lol....it's okay, we're both in the medical field. We gotta be assertive. I might go to my ghetto jcp, i'm sure they haven't implemented anything from corporate yet. Just the way the cookie crumbles....

There is a difference between being assertive and rude. You can tell someone what you want and how you feel while being polite about it. I can assure you that I am never rude to anyone, especially those in customer service. I understand they are just doing their job. I have dealt with far too many inconsiderate people to treat people in a disrespectful manner. Apologies if what I said offended you. I suppose snippy wasn't the best choice of word.

I know I reacted (and I'm sure others did too) the same way when I read your initial post. I definitely associate snippy with rude, not with being assertive. Glad to see you explained more thoroughly.

I don't know if any of you remember a post of mine from very early in this promotion, but I was frustrated because I'd entered a code on AOL and never even heard back - until TODAY that is! I just got one of the winning emails to claim a $5 certificate! Unbelievable. Now let's see if I get the code back before the end of the year!! laugh out loud

DID ANYONE else have any problems stacking cards i am in the east cost in nj will try tonight here see what happens
I was already being rung up for two separate $10 items (with two $10 HCs) tonight and I asked the SA if I could stack them...what I meant was, could I make his life easier by doing it all as one purchase. He said that he could stack them, then when I seemed surprised, he quickly explained that he could stack them if they were the same amount ($5 vs. $10). Had I know that, I would've picked out something to use up all my $5 ones on in case I don't get someone as lenient as him in the future. My feeling is that it's dependent upon the SA.

I'm on the east coast, near Philadelphia.

Ah blunt. Much better choice. Blunt doesn't sound so rude. Sounds more assertive!

just called the better jcp, maybe shot myself in the foot, but when i asked if i can use more than one holiday certificates in one transaction, they said no.

i'm not going to call the ghetto jcp, just going to go....selection is low, but i got no choice.

if not, i'm going to end up with a whole lot of camis/panties/house slippers.... or feel like digging in the clearance section? eck.

What have you guys been buying with $5 and $10 certs? I bought a Levis beanie that was priced at $12, but it was actually $10, so got it for free.

I don't know what else is there. There isn't much at JCP I would want to spend any money on, but free is free.

You can always just do the multiple transactions for things that are exactly $10 and $5. All is not lost!

If you aren't stacking (which looks like none of us will be able to do soon) there is a lot of stuff for $5 and $10 exactly. I started out getting a lot of kitchen utensils and holiday items. A lot of the holiday items are priced at exactly $10. $10 are much easier to find than $5. For $5, mostly ornaments. They make great gifts too. You might be able to find some candy too.
