I just got back from RL. Had no problem using the coupon and the waitress was very free with the biscuits. First basket right away. Second and third and when we asked to take the 4th that was on our table home, she offered to bring a hot basket. So baskets 4 & 5 taken home.
One note. To sweeten the deal they have a sign in front buy a $25 gift card get $5 to use on a future visit (January). Coupon says 1 per person. This meal cost us $19 and we gave a $6 tip, so just left the whole $25 card and have $5 off an entre to use in January. Since we plan on going for this deal again we will have 2 $5 card that they should let us use in one siting, since it says $5 per person, not per table.
I take it the $19 was after RL took the $15 coupon off yout bill? So your original and the bill the tip is based on was $34? I think if my server sent me home with 2 baskets of biscuits (and kept my soda/cola glass from getting empty) thats auto 20%.. and I would just round the $6.80 up to $7.
Maybe where you are at 17.5% tip is for above and beyond service?
