lego mindstorms
Hey everyone,My 10-year-old really wants Lego mindstorms for Christmas, but wow is it expensive! Are there ever sales? Deals? Thanks! |

i have had it in my cart for severals months now and have not seen a price dop, but then again I have not seen it rise either

The only thing I can think of is going through a rebate website (I don't think I can say the name). Toys R Us has a price of $280 and there's an 8% rebate through that site. That's the best I can come up with. I don't think Black Friday will help us out, but maybe the rebates site will have better deals?

It dropped about 10% to around $240 last year at Christmas, but I only saw that price a few times. Lego is pretty firm with the price of the Mindstorms kit.
On a personal note: If your child is interested in Lego and Mindstorms, you might want to check out FIRST Lego League. There are lots of tournaments going on in Nov and Dec that you can observe. |

My son was in a first lego league tournament! He loved it so much that now he wants the robot himself. So good suggestion. : )
Thanks for the Happy Valley suggestion. I'd love to get it for $240, but there's no guarantee of that this year... Thanks, y'all! |

Look around on ebay for unopened sets .. I bought a set for my sister but she never used/opened it so I had to sell it on ebay for $220
|

I'll check ebay--I'd want to be sure it was an absolutely complete unopened set! Too bad I couldn't buy yours!
