whats the el cheapo plan with iphone. got a optimus v now the $25 a mo. grandfathered in. If i switch to iphone is it $35 for the 300 min unlimted text/web ?

Correct - the grandfathered $25 is not transferable to the IPhone 4S...

Virgin runs on Sprint's network. And I was on Virgin for a year and I was very happy with it for the twenty bucks a month it was costing me. Once they un-grandfathered the $25 plan that I was paying about twenty bucks a month for, I made the jump to Straight Talk, and I'm certainly happy with the increase in speed and network size, but Virgin wasn't bad for the money.

is the data still horrible? We dont even use the data coz the speed is so slow. If iphone 4 then maybe we get 4g or is it a joke like their 3g which is really unusable (at least in seattle.)

Good deal, but definitely make sure you check into Virgin's signal strength in your area. I tried Virgin for a few months when my ATT contract ran out. Their '3G' maxxed at 600k down, and averaged closer to 200k (Milwaukee area).

I could even have lived with that for the price, but the phone signal was even worse. At my house, I struggled to hold a call for more than 5-10 minutes. And taking the phone with me down to the rec room? Zero signal. Couldn't receive a call or signal down there.

So, Virgin can be a great deal if you get decent coverage and data speeds where you live, but you really want to make sure you check into it first.

On that note, anyone want to buy a barely used LG Optimus Elite with a case, 8gb micro SD card and car charger?

In my area, Sprint/Verizon are the best. I would buy 4S to replace my optimus V. But VM 4S is locked for life. There is no way I will buy it. I probably will switch to Straight talk if VM is still lock its IPHONE. It is the worst business decision by not unlock it. It gains nothing by lock it.

I was with Virgin Mobile and though the price is great, you get what you pay for. The Data speeds were abysmal. I was with them as late as early this year. I still don't knock them because the price is great and if fast data doesn't suit your needs, good deal. I'm pretty happy with the 3G speeds I get with Straight Talk.

I am very happy with my $30 pageplus plan and $200 ebay iphone 4. I would consider my option also.
