Try Remote Potato. It uses WMC's framework. It streams up to VGA quality for free.

I just got my HD Homerun Prime 3 tuner running with my Cable Card and I friggin LOVE IT! That being said no cable card = worthless for me but if you are satisfied with the pure crap on network TV over the air then this is a great product if its anything like the Prime.

FWIW in my area they sent notice a while ago that you'll neeed a STB or cable card for each TV. Cablevision will lend you a STB for a year but then you have to pay. So, now you get a message that says "This channell requires a cable box or card" and recieve vry few stations. OTA for me gives 43 but only 4-5 are watchable the rest aren't in english. ..

You're dumb. He wasn't asking if theoretically every computer could connect, he wasnt asking how many tuners could one computer use, he wanted to know the max number of computers/devices that could use this at a time which is... Two.

Since you say "OTA for me gives 43" it sounds like your situation is not relevant. If you receive 43 stations without "a STB or cable card for each TV" then you are at least receiving some stations unencrypted. I am however not sure what you are saying.

The guide is part of Windows Media Center, so you can schedule recordings as you mention.

Basically whatever computer records the show is the one that can play it... there used to be media center extension players (Xbox 360 is one) but they aren't around much or working well.

Can this device be used to record without encryption on a PC hard disk at 1080i items previously recorded on a DirecTV DVR at 1080P or 1080i?

Asking because I have recordings that I do not want to lose when (& if) my DirecTV DVR is upgraded to a more current version with DirecTV. The loss of these recordings hinders my willingness to get a more modern DirecTV DVR. Thanks.
