Aren't all watches mechanical? Quartz (battery), Automatics (self-winding), and old Wind ups are all technically mechanical... "Automatic" is the correct and technical term to define this type of watch; and it does make it a somewhat bigger draw. However, you also make a good point because I doubt anyone who is interested in automatic watches is going to want one like this that is not Swiss Made, with no idea what the movement inside actually is... And anyone who is not, probably finds no difference between mechanical and automatic, so what's the difference really matter?

Agreed. I did not bother to check the link and went by OP's title. Was never drawn into the Bulova 'automatics' which are almost always this price (+- $10) at the various daily deal websites. This is a nice watch, but will NOT add value to your collection. Least of all is the Japanese vs Swiss movement argument.
