AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 upgrade for 199$ (2 yr contract & free shipping) YMMV

My assumption is AT&T is selling you the phone as is or possibly refurbished units(?).. From what I remember, replacement phones from AT&T, they will just send you the phone with no accessories such as chargers or cable and possibly no battery in some cases.

+1, Just called in to 800.331.0500 and CSR pricematched my pre-ordered note 2 that I've had for 2 weeks down to $199.99 by crediting my account $100. No questions asked. Call took 2 min & 39 seconds!

Background: I have AT&T iPhone and DW is on TMo. TMo offered Note II for 49.99 if I were to sign up for 2-yr contract...but the phone isn't in stock so I'll have to wait 2-3 weeks?!
So I called 611 with that offer to see what they can do...the first guy didn't have the ability to do sales (only service existing lines)...so he transferred me over to NBO. The guy here offered 344.99 with a $25 discount...No thanks...so he said maybe sales dept can offer something better than that. So transferred to Sales. The lady offered 279.99 with a onetime $60 or $30 off fro 3 months...I told her that my contract expire in 3 months and I could pay an ETF today and get out from it. She upped her discount another $10 and dropped the price to $215. Still no go for me.

I got it for $242.00 after all said and done, with tax ($59 sob!) and credits. Is this a decent deal? I feel like I can try and do better, since some of you guys getting it for 50-100. I am also not due for an upgrade until 06/13 if that matters?

Two calls this morning trying to get a free Galaxy S3 and the best I could was $174 and 3 month credit for $25 each. I was on hold almost 30 minutes the CSR felt so sorry she gave me an immediate $60 credit even though I didn't accept the offer for the S3. Called back the third time told the CSR that a co-worker upgraded to a Note 2 for $199, asked if they could do the same. Came back and said yes they could offer me the same price. $199-$60=$139 + waived activation and free overnight shipping.

I doubt they even have refurbished units for a just-launched model.

called in and mentioned that i placed an order 2 days ago and the new add came out and tmobile and bestbuy had it for 199 and i payed 344.
Gave me a 125 dollar credit on my account

No go here. I called thrice, the retention department was able to do a best of $249..and infact told me to wait for better deals on BF or get it from someone who is giving for cheap. She was nice, but this is wierd!
I have an Enterprise account for 5 years now and am eligible for an upgrade.
They say its showing $440 in their system and they cannot get it any cheaper than $250. And differerent cs guys quoted diff rates, and what pissed me off is that retention could not do any better than $320..I guess I'll try again!

I only tried once and was offered $274. But he did give me $30 off my account for 6 months and I didnt even renew my line or buy the Note 2....so a free $180 for me.

I called and cancelled.

I really only wanted the phone if I could get the deal, which I was unable to get (after the credits for buying the phone, would've still been $232 after tax). Barring that, I still ordered because if I was able to get the phone right away, I would've lived with the price (and I told the rep this over the phone).

I was told it would ship yesterday - still hadn't shipped as of 1:30 pm today, so I cancelled.

Now to see if they've messed up my account with plan changes and whatnot, and also to see if the credits stay on the account...

Gave them a call and got it for 208 with 20 bucks credits for 3 months and activation fee waived!

Just called and got Note 2 for $200 even waived everything else that would bring it up anymore. Went from Nokia 920 (app suport didn't do it for me coming from iOS) now HTC X+ (SUPER GREAT PHONE) finally ending up with Note 2. After fooling around with a friends Note 2 at work I WAS SOLD SOLD SOLD on it.
