AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 upgrade for 199$ (2 yr contract & free shipping) YMMV

Okay so I went to an ATT reseller store and got them to do $249 and waive activation. So I paid $278 and got a 6 month x $30 credit. So I paid, in essence, $98 for this bad boy.

Called AT&T today and they gave me one for $214 after tax! Thanks OP!

Called a couple times earlier today and they wouldn't do better than $299, but did give me $25 off a month for 3 months just to keep me happy. Called in just now 11PM PT and got a gray Note 2 for $99 and a credit back to cover the CA taxes.

So $99 total and a $75 credit so I'm basically in for $25 and I get to keep my grandfathered in unlimited data plan.

I'm not going to say what I paid, because it will just make everyone angry, but I was able to upgrade my primary line 11 months early (and that's 11 months before an early upgrade--my last contract started April of this year, so 2 years would have run in April 2014). This may be related to the fact that I've been with AT&T/Cingular/AT&T for about 12 years. The rep was also kind enough to offer a credit to cover tax and overnight it.

Don't get me wrong...I've used Square Trade in the past...they have great customer service!

But phones tend to break more than once every couple of years in my household....no deductible is nice!

Just Called AT&T, CSR checked the price of $349, then I mentioned T-mobile offer this phone for $50. The CSR laughed first then said if, if he could bring the price down to $50, will I going to place the order now?

So I got the phone for $50 + $36 (upgrade fee, he said its been a huge discount already...)= $86

Where exactly does T-Mobile show this phone for $50? I already have my Note 2, but I'm within the 14 days and can call back to try at a larger discount. I have nothing to base that info off of though...

The phones are backordered. But the prices are mostly dependent on when you signed up (how long you were a customer for) and how many lines you have (how much $$ you spend).

I called 611 several times yesterday. Finally I accepted a deal with lower my monthly family(two lines) plan payment by $10/per month, $10 credit every month for a year, and have a note 2 @ $249 ( but will have MIR for $100). Today, I call CSR to mention Tmobile's deal which note 2 is only $49, and I was not happy to pay so much high price. Then, she gave me $100 credit back into my acoount.
So, I paid $300( after CA tax)-$100rebate-$100instant credit-$120credit($10 per month for a year)=$-20, am I calculate it right?

I think there is a special program with T-mobile to get this phone for $50, But the CSR does not care it's true or not! Only depends the CSR is willing to get overwrite or not. I saw many posts they even got sweeter deals within this thread.

For me, $86 is good enough

May have gotten it for $299 minus $50 "rebate" and two $50 bill credits though i was cut off from my CSR and now i'm having a problem getting the other CSR's to confirm this!!! I have not accepted the T&C email yet. in essence $150 plus taxes good enough for me whilest I got the run around earlier today.

EDIT: Called back to another rep today (Thanksgiving) as I never rec'd T&C email. Apparently I had to pay for it :-) and never completed that. Anyway, this rep cancelled the other order, immediately applied $50 credit to equipment so with tax $265 shipped. And then applied $100 credit to our current bill. In essence after I accept T&C shipped will be $165 and I'm satisfied with that!

Thank you for this post. I just ordered my GN2 last night and they automatically gave me the $199 price. I was prepared to pay the $299 because I've wanted this phone since this summer after finding out it was coming out. When the rep said $199 it shocked me and I jumped on it. I was upset because I wasn't told that I would be charged the $36 upgrade fee originally. When I saw it, it was too late to call them...so I thought I'd just wait until tomorrow. (Black Friday) Well, on a fluke, I tried calling Customer Retention today (Thanksgiving) and to my surprise, they were open! I told the woman about the upgrade fee and being told the shipping couldn't be expedited and that TMobile had it for $50, so to just cancel my order and I'll go over there. Well, she said that she could waive the upgrade fee and either give me a credit of $150 right now or $75 for the next 3 months. Naturally, I chose the $75! So, $75 x 3 = $225 - $223.94 (phone + tax) = them paying ME $1.06 to get the phone!!! I'm SOOOOOO happy!!!! Thank you all!!!!

Oh and FYI, we have and Enterprise account with 5 phones and have been with them since 2005.
