AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 2 upgrade for 199$ (2 yr contract & free shipping) YMMV

Order was placed day before yesterday. Online Tracking number says phones will be here Monday.

But here is the kicker, I went to the local store and they had them in stock, so I canceled the over-the-phone order and picked them up in store with same terms and conditions. When we went back to store to activate wifes phone, they had an offer that if you buy two Samsung phones you get an additional $100 off the total. So I got the two phones for $500. Two hours later I got the shipping confirmation for the phone order I had canceled.

Just got the two extra phones in the mail, and the rep on the phone said if I wanted I could just keep the two extra phones, and the charge for $599 would not be reversed.

Tried calling a couple times. Unfortunately, my line is part of a business account so the CSR said there is no way to get any special pricing on the Note 2 and I'm locked in at the price of $299. When calling, there isn't an option to get to the customer retention dept. either, only main option is to talk to a CSR about upgrade or account changes. Even when I mentioned canceling the account, they simply provided me with the 866 number our "key decision maker" could call to cancel the line.

Anyone else part of a business account that successfully got the price reduced?

When I recevied mines at first glance the box looked like it was stuffed and not fully closed. Opened it up and I can clearly see why as whoever put the sim card in the phone wasn't to careful in trying to package everything back up properly. I called AT&T and complained about it. The phone itself still had all the plastics on it, and I gotta say it's AWESOME. Added a 64GB card to it, and thinking about rooting it so I can get the multiview enabled like Tmobile/Verizon and Sprint has. Also got it unlocked from the thread that was posted couple days ago!

You are correct, but just call regular customer service and they will transfer the call after you explain that a "buddy" who also is on a business line was able to replicate the offer. Just tell them that you already aware that business lines aren't able to pricematch but they were able to provide an exception for your business line buddy. It took me 3 times so keep trying ymmv!

I called in and got a Note 2 a couple weeks ago for $99. Wife saw it and immediately wanted one too, problem was she already upgraded to the S3 in September. So I called into the upgrades department and asked how much the early termination fee was for my wife's line. CSR said it would be $305 and asked why I wanted to cancel my service. Told him that T-Mobile was gonna give me (2)Note 2's for $50 each. He told me if he could get it for the same price would I stay with AT&T. I countered by asking them to also credit me back another $50 for the phone I bought a few weeks ago. He told me no problem since I've been a loyal customer since 2006. Total credits I ended up receiving from both purchases was $300, paid $250 for the phones, and ended up $50 ahead plus a Galaxy S3 that I can now sell. Gotta hand it to AT&T's customer service for really making this a great early Christmas!!!

Yeah, same thing here. The seal on the box was opened and the SIM card was already in the phone. However, it was done carefully, I did not notice and visible signs of things in the box being out of place and the phone had no scratches or fingerprints and had the plastic screen cover intact.

I was just able to get this deal. Called in and asked for it for $199 with waived upgrade fee and was granted. Premier customer since 2005 and pay $190/month for 5 lines.

Anyone know when retention department closes?

Anyone tried this after the holidays? I am finally upgrade eligible. I hope this still works.
