I've had HP envy ultrabook with hdd and 32gb sad, and the boot up times were faster than traditional hdd but wasn't as fast as my pure SSD desktop or old mac (with HDD swapped for SSD).

Launching of apps is hardly any different... maybe with extended use, maybe it makes some apps faster to launch but at least in 1 month of use, I thought the combination wasn't all it's cracked up to be. A full on SSD is definitely much better, especially for launching apps and day to day usage.

I bought xps13 about 6 months back when dell direct had a deal for 670 bucks. .. I would not advise anyone except my worst enemy to buy it.. the trackpad does not work and gets struck and you have to restart your system... wifi issues even restarting doesnt work.. but the laptop sure is slick and gives long battery life. not good for primary laptop

and the processor is 2nd gen intel right ?
