OP, it sounds like you work at my company because the exact same thing happened. Additionally, we lost several paid holidays and maternity leave benefits (above what FMLA covers). I considered doing the same thing you did but I didn't have enough time to figure out how to line things up properly before the end of open enrollment. Maybe next year....

We did not loose holidays or maternity leave benefits as far as I know, but yes it definitely did go up. Me and my partner are doing all our last minute checkups, cleanings at the dentist, blood tests, and such to give everything one last go to prepare for the uninsured new year. My backup option is just signing up for the benefits my partner makes through her work place, only thing is she is part time there and not sure how much better her benefits will be with Lowes.
