This is a slick deal, if your computer can handle usb 2.0 it can handle 3.0. Its backwards compatible. You will only get usb 2.0 speeds from a usb 2.0 slot though, so this 3.0 drive will work no faster than a 2.0 (assuming both revolve at the same rpm but dont mind that).

In short, its slick, will be FP today. $50 for 500gb is not bad at all, if you want twice the space for $20 go for it (I say why not). I've had this drive, its small and matte finished, not glossy that scratches as soon as it moves across any surface. SO BUY UP while you can.

USB3.0 is backward compatible so it will work on any of your usb connectors without issue. You just will not be able to take advantage of the signifantly faster 3.0 specifications unless your PC has 3.0 USB ports.

This and the Buffalo MiniStation that was posted earlier - same price. As suggested above, the bare bones (no embedded software) is a big plus, especially if you want to use it with a Mac.
