Cheapest 10 inch tablet
Hi... I am an iPad user so I don't know much about android tablets. My father in law is a truck driver and he wants a tablet to use in his truck on the stops to surf the web, watch tv/netflix, play games etc on wifi. I am looking for the best tablet under $200 if that exists. I know there are good deals on 7 inches but he wants a 10 inch tablet. I doubt he needs a ton of storage, but I don't want a junky one either. Anyone have any suggestions.... TIA

eGlide Craptastic 10" Tablet with Resistive Screen--Only $80! [walmart.com] Assuming you like your father-in-law, however, it's hard to find a good 10" tablet that fits your $200 budget. Keep your eye out for refurbs on the name brands, like Toshiba Excites/Acer/Asus. There also might be a slam-dunk deal on Black Friday/Cyber Monday that hasn't been revealed yet, but I haven't see one. If you are adventurous, you might take a chance on a tablet shipped direct from China. The Ainol Hero, a 10" IPS tablet, is just hitting the market for ~$195. Ainol is an unfortunate brand name, but they make reasonably good quality tablets for the price. I'd recommend that you look for: Capacitative Screen with good resolution (go look at some to see what you can accept and what you cannot); 1 GB or more of memory; ICS (4.0) or later; microSD slot; HDMI slot: The more on-board storage the better, but your price range limits will likely limit you to 8GB. Good luck. |

In your price range, I would probably go with the Coby MID1042-8 with WiFi 10.1" Touchscreen Tablet |

Best advice so far. Increase your budget to something realistic, even just $260, and you can go from cheap shitty laggy devices to a class-leading tablet like the Asus. |
